Frequently asked questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
No, absolutely not! Our solution is made of the highest quality, natural ingredients. All of our technicians have also been trained and certified!
Pre-Tan Instructions
Shave all unwanted body hair, scrub and shower (use non oil products) at least 5 hours before spray.
If you are getting waxed do that 48 hrs prior. This will give your skin the proper foundation for a great tan.
Do not spray perfume or put on lotion (unless extremely dehydrated)
No jewelry
Wear or bring loose dark clothing
Wear flip-flops
We recommend waiting 8 hours before your initial shower but we do have Rapid Sunless Spray which enables you to rinse after 4 hrs.
When ready for rinse use lukewarm or cool water, no soap on tan areas, your tan is still developing for 24 more hours.
Don't shave if you can avoid it or use a brand new blade.
Pat dry with towel, rubbing will ruin tan.
Drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Dry skin is the enemy of your tan.
After 24 hrs start using lotion 2x a day. You can use a tan extender starting 2nd day if you choose.
Remember, the ocean and the pool will fade your tan, anything with oil as well. Treat your tan like a luxury and it will be around longer.
The entire process the first time takes about 15-30 minutes, from start to finish.
I am prepping you, deciding a color mix and guiding you through so it takes a little longer the first time, after that 10-15 minutes is all we need.
The typical spray tan will last 7-10 days with proper care and upkeep. It is important to follow the steps listed on our Tan Care page to get the best quality tan possible.
A Bride's Guide for a Wedding Day Spray Tan
- Schedule a Trial Spray Tan
Be sure to schedule a test run with your spray tan artist a couple of weeks before the big day. This will ensure the longevity of your spray tan and allows them to choose the best shade of solution for your skin type. - Schedule Your Hair & Make-up Properly
It is important to prioritize your wedding day appointments so that any exfoliation process do not interfere with the results of the spray tan.Appointments should go as follows:1. Waxing at least 24 hours prior to spray
2. Nails and Pedicure
3. Spray Tan
4. Hair and Make-up
5. Say "I DO!" - For Best Results
Remember your spray tanning basics.
Exfoliate 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Up to 8 hours after your appointment, rinse with WARM-WATER - no soap!
Use sulfate free skin and hair products to protect your tan.
Keep your skin moisturized to lock in your color. - SAY "I DO!"
Tan Care
- Shave to remove unwanted body hair.
- Exfoliate entire body with mild, oil free exfoliate 1 day prior to your tan.
- Collect the following items if applicable: hair tie, lip balm and black swimsuit or underwear.
- If you shower on the day of your tan do not apply body oils or moisturizer (unless you have severe dry skin) as this can create a barrier on your skin.
- Remove any make up and deodorant.
- Pull hair up and away from face and neck with a hair tie.
- Remove contact lenses, clothing, shoes, and jewelry.
- Within the next 8 hours of your custom spray tan, avoid any activity that would cause sweating: exercise, cleaning, or showering, as your spray tan is developing during these hours. Contact with water or sweat could result in lines or uneven tanning.
- If you choose not to shower, please cover your bed with dark sheets and pillowcases so that any bronzer does not stain your regular sheets.
- Shower after 8 hours with only water and do not scrub on any area that has been sprayed. During the first shower you will see the cosmetic bronzer wash away from your skin. This is completely normal, and is only the cosmetic bronzer (instant tan that you could see after your spray tan). The cosmetic bronzer is used to give immediate tan results. Do not be concerned by this, as your developed tan is still there and will develop more in the next 24 hours.
- While you are drying, remember to pat, not rub your skin.
- Apply a moisturizer with sunscreen in the morning, and a tan extending lotion at night (please ask your tanning technician for more information).
- Shower with a mild moisturizing shower gel. DO NOT EXFOLIATE! Pat dry.
- The life of your spray tan depends on the care you take of your skin. Moisturize twice a day. Avoid chlorine. The following products have been shown to reduce the number of days that a spray tan will remain on the skin: adhesive bandages, face masks, pore strips, anti- aging or anti-acne products, bar soaps, and hair removal creams,
- If you notice premature fading of your spray tan, you can correct this by touching up your spray tan with a cosmetic bronzer spray-tanning product. Please ask your tanning technician for more information.
